The following resource can be used to learn more about where Aviben benefit cards can be used. For the card to be accepted, the merchant must participant in the IIAS Merchant Program or the 90% Rule Merchant Program. The salesclerk will scan the entire purchase. The benefit card should be used first and will only pay for the items that are categorized as eligible medical items.
AVIBEN DEBIT CARDS (BENEFIT CARDS)
- IIAS – Inventory Information Approval System
A card system that automatically identifies eligible medical expenses. Examples of these stores would include Walgreens, Walmart, and Target. - 90% Merchant – Limited to drug stores and pharmacies that have stores whose sales are 90% or more eligible medical items. The merchant category for 90% Merchants only includes the following: 5912, Drug Stores/Pharmacies; 5122 – Druggist/Drug Proprietaries. These are typically going to be true pharmacies who only fill prescriptions and sell medically qualified products.
